Unfortunately, the sequel in 1981 addressed the issue of when Michael was definitely killed off. ![]() The chronology provides the most direct explanation for Michael Myers’ abilities. The audience was not intended to know if he was supernatural or not in the first Halloween. He is a psychologically unstable man who possesses incredible strength and a great tolerance for pain, as well as the intelligence to stay almost invisible for the bulk of the time. Michael Myers, as he is introduced in the first film, is neither superhuman, immortal, or invulnerable. There is no definite answer to the question of whether Michael Myers is human or supernatural, as the numerous Halloween films are separated into four distinct timeframes, each of which has its own take on Michael Myers. Michael Myers is portrayed as pure evil in the films, as well as by the filmmakers who conceived and developed the character throughout nine films. He then begins his murdering rampage, intending to murder his surviving family members and everyone who stands in his way. After 15 years in prison, Myers escapes the institution and returns to Haddonfield to murder additional adolescents. ![]() Michael was sent to a psychiatric hospital as a youngster for murdering his older sister. He makes his film debut in 1978 as a little kid who murders his elder sister, Judith Myers, in John Carpenter’s Halloween. ![]() Michael Myers is a fictitious slasher film character from the Halloween franchise.

For instance, if your album included two cover songs and was downloaded 500 times, the royalties owed would be $91 (500 album downloads x 2 songs x 9.1¢ per song). For digital downloads, the royalties are calculated on the actual number of downloads. The same statutory rate applies to digital downloads (DPDs). For instance, if you were to manufacture 1,000 CDs of an album containing two cover songs, the royalties owed would be $182 (1,000 CDs x 2 songs x 9.1¢ per song). How does this work for physical CDs?įor every physical CD manufactured that includes the cover song, the royalties owed would be 9.1¢ per pressing, per song. The publishing royalty is a statutory rate set by law at 9.1¢ per unit for all recordings up to five minutes, and 1.75¢ per minute if a track is over five minutes in length. Some agencies represent many US publishers for mechanical licensing, although there are US publishers who are not represented by agencies and must be licensed directly. ![]() ![]() Typically, these are publishers acting on behalf of songwriters or composers. Mechanical licenses are compulsory licenses (they generally cannot be denied) issued by the owner or controller of a composition. Any time you reproduce and distribute a recording of a composition you do not control, you need a mechanical license. What’s a mechanical license?Ī mechanical license is a broad term that refers to the reproduction – for distribution or sale – of a musical composition in the form of a sound recording. Just like you need a license to drive a car, fly an airplane, or sell real estate… it’s the law! Copyright Law requires that artists and labels obtain a mechanical license before distributing a recording - digitally or physically - containing any song/composition they didn’t write. Holiday Licensing FAQ Why is licensing necessary? “Winter Wonderland” (Felix Bernard, Richard B. “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)” (Mel Tormé, Robert Wells) “Sleigh Ride” (Leroy Anderson, Mitchell Parish) “Silver Bells” (Jay Livingston, Ray Evans) “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” (Johnny Marks) “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” (Johnny Marks) “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” (Sammy Cahn, Jule Styne) “Jingle Bell Rock” (Joseph Carleton Beal, James Ross Boothe) “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year” (Edward Pola, George Wyle) “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” (Walter Kent, Kim Gannon, Buck Ram) “Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)” (Gene Autry, Oakley Haldeman) “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” (Ralph Blane, Hugh Martin) “Frosty The Snowman” (Steve Nelson, Walter E. ![]() “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” (Fred Coots, Haven Gillespie) “Do You Hear What I Hear?” (Noel Regney, Gloria Shayne Baker) ![]() “All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth” (Donald Yetter Gardner) Holiday Songs NOT in the PUBLIC DOMAIN (Writer/Composer) Holiday songs that ARE in the PUBLIC DOMAIN One important point to remember: Even though a song may be found in the public domain, a copyrighted arrangement of that song may not be, so always check first. Basically, this is a royalty payment to the copyright owner for allowing you the use of the composition.Ī good many Christmas songs are public domain, but many popular holiday tunes are modern compositions that are copyrighted and need a license. Mechanical licenses are issued by the owner or controller of the composition (typically publishers) acting on behalf of songwriters or composers. Any time you reproduce and distribute a recording of a composition you did not write, you need a mechanical license - unless the song is in the public domain. ![]() He does not aim to create an interchange between different genres. Upon being engaged by the player, they make tactical maneuvers, quickly jumping in and out of their ink while shooting and throwing bombs. With no visible target, Octolings wander alone or in small groups and ink nearby surfaces for their convenience. They make up an elite corps of the Octarian forces, and can use various main weapons as well as sub weapons. Octolings can switch between octopus and humanoid form at will. Like Inklings they have the ability to morph, but into an octopus. Instead of tentacles for hair, they have actual fur. The Mammalian Octolings have reddish-brown fur for their hair, wear pink "lipstick", and have a new outfit consisting of new goggles with Fuzzy Ooze covering the lenses, a leopard top, new legwear, and boots styled after sea mines. They are shown to have pale greenish skin, dark teal-colored fingertips and blue hair with neon yellow tips. The physical coloration of the Octolings is very different from normal ones. Further separating them from the common Octolings are their darker hair and two long strands of seaweed attached to their heads. While normal Octolings have red hair and are fairly easy to defeat, later missions feature Elite Octolings instead, which are faster, more resilient, and deal more damage. Their hairstyle is also not available for playable Octolings. Compared to playable Octolings, they have a different octopus form, which has curlier tentacles of the same length and Octarian eyes. ![]() Like Inklings, Octolings have an octopus form, which they can use to swim or hide in ink, but can sometimes be seen using it on dry land. Octoling hair color seems unrelated to their ink, as they have their pre-set hair color regardless of the color set for the mission.Īs shown in art of the Octolings in The Art of Splatoon, their eye markings are the same as their playable counterparts, but with a purple tinge at the edge of their 'eyelashes', and they have green eyes, like the other Octarians (even in octopus form, as opposed to the Inklings' eyes, which are grey in squid form, despite the player's chosen eye color). These Octolings are considered elites compared to the playable Octolings, of which there are also male versions, and not every female Octoling can become a full-fledged soldier. All enemy Octolings encountered are female, their body features seem slightly more mature than female Inklings', though this is a result of their clothing, as the in-game model is the same. Like Inklings, they can walk on land in humanoid form as well as swim through their own Ink in octopus form, making up a somewhat small but dangerous portion of Octarian forces. Unlike Inklings, they have thicker and curlier hair, with four tentacles instead of six (added with their arms and legs this gives them eight "limbs", as opposed to Inklings' ten), have their suckers above their hair than underneath, beige undersides of their hair, small round ears, purple circled eyes with a dash on the end, pointed fingers, and no spots at the ends of their hair. Octolings are the Octarian equivalents of Inklings.
